Gavin Laughlin

A highly skilled forward with an excellent offensive hockey IQ who demonstrates the ability to control the pace of play and consistently generate scoring opportunities. Possesses excellent skating ability and speed, using both to create space and make plays in the offensive zone. Constantly involved in the play, showcasing strong vision, awareness, and playmaking instincts. Trusted in both power-play and penalty-killing situations, where his offensive instincts and ability to generate scoring chances make him a threat to score in all situations. Scored two goals in this game including one on the power-play.

Brought a lot of energy and intensity to this game, consistently looking to be the first forward in on the forecheck and finishing his checks. Has a solid, stocky frame and competed hard on pucks, refusing to give up on plays and doing a nice job keeping possessions alive. Showed some deceptive skill and awareness with the puck, making crisp passes and seemingly always knowing where his teammates were. Also displayed a good shot when given the opportunity. Skated well enough, but adding another gear to his speed and quickness would really elevate his game. Liked his compete level and willingness to do the dirty work, while showing some flashes of high end offensive ability.
